For that, there is great demand of the students in corporate sector with the good management skills. To develop good management skills, students have to opt for MBA (Master in Business Administration) after doing graduation in any stream. Here in this article you come to know about the top 25 management colleges in India.

MBA is a two year master’s degree program meant for graduate students who are looking for the job of a manager in the corporate sector. The course is available in regular, part time and distance course. However, students mainly opt for regular course and it is better than the other two courses.

In this article, we would discuss about the qualities best management colleges should have, what are the eligibility criteria a student must fulfill to get admission in those colleges, what qualities and skills a student must have to be a manager.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA A STUDENT MUST FULFILL TO GET ADMISSION IN TOP MBA COURSES

A student must fulfill following criteria to get admission in an MBA course:

  • Must have completed graduation in any stream with minimum of 50% marks. Qualifying marks of graduation changes from college to college. So colleges demand for 60% in graduation while some demand for a minimum of 75%.
  • Must have cleared one of the following management entrance exams :
  1. CAT – Common Admission Test
  2. CMAT – Common Management Admission Test
  3. GMAT – Graduate Management Aptitude Test
  4. JMET – Joint Management Entrance Test
  • If a student has not cleared any of the above management entrance exams or has not appeared for any of the above exams he/she can appear for the entrance exams conducted by universities directly to give admission in their colleges. Some of the universities conducting separate management entrance exams are :
  1. SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) – For admission in Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS)
  2. XAT (Xavier’s Aptitude Test) – For admission in Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB)

There are many other universities too which conducts there own exams.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES A GOOD MANAGEMENT STUDENT MUST POSSESS

Before discussing about the qualities of a good management college, let us discuss about few skills and qualities a student must possess to be a good manager.

Apart from studies and academics, a student must possess following skills and qualities to be a good manager –

  • A Positive Attitude: As we know very well that “Skill is Nil without Will”, a management student must possess a positive attitude and passion towards his/her work. A positive attitude keeps the morale of a manager’s employee high. A management student must have quality of motivating people.
  • Prioritization: A management student should be able to prioritize his/her work. He/she should be able to identify the three tasks out of the list of ten tasks to give first priority and should focus on those three tasks only.
  • Leadership Quality: Since a manager has to manage all of his/her employees, a good management student should possess good leadership qualities and should work on that in their college days.
  • Effective Decision Making: A good management student should be able to take effective decisions in right time. He/she should develop the quality of taking action after thinking and taking suggestions from some experienced employees. A manager should neither take action without thinking nor should he/she think without taking an action. A management student should maintain a balance between the two.
  • Patience: A good management student should learn to keep patience with their team members as well as with themselves.
  • Communication Skills: Since a manager has to deal with his/her employees and clients, a management student must have good communication skills and should work on it right from his/her college time.

QUALITIES TOP MANAGEMENT OR MBA COLLEGEs SHOULD POSSESS

A student must consider following qualities for selecting a best management college after graduation. First he/she should compare various Indian management colleges by visiting their websites and gets information regarding the following points:

  • Recognition by UGC: The first and foremost thing which a student must consider while selecting appropriate college is whether it is recognized by UGC (University Grant Commission) or not. Usually universities mentioned under private, deemed, state and central categories are all affiliated by UGC.
  • Campus: The campus of the college is the place where a student spends most of the time. So, the campus of the college should be filled with positivity. Posters and flex displaying inspiring quotes can be put at appropriate places of the campus which inspires a student and fill a student with new energy to move towards their goal.
  • Infrastructure: Classrooms should be properly ventilated. Language labs and computer labs should be well equipped which provides an appropriate learning environment for the students.
  • Practical Approach: Since a student has to work in corporate environment and business sector, college should provide appropriate corporate and company visits so that they can observe and learn the work culture of a company and how projects are managed and executed in a company.
  • Faculties and Professors of the College: Faculties and professors of the college also play a major role in shaping the career of a student. Hence the faculties and professors of the college should be highly qualified and experienced. They should have a good experience in teaching field and practical field as well.
  • Placements and Internships: As told earlier practical knowledge is more important than theoretical concepts, proper internships should be provided to the students so that they can get the proper work experience for their future. Proper placements to the students should be provided which is the ultimate dream of every management student.
  • Mess and Hostels: Although Mess and Hostels are not a major deciding factor for the selection of a college but since a student has to spend about 2 years with a college, he/she should consider that also. As sound mind rests in sound body, the quality of food provided in the college mess should be up to the mark (it is important if the student is residing in the college hostel away from his home) and the rooms of the hostel should also be well maintained and furnished. The hostel should have a calm and healthy environment which encourages a student to perform well in their academics.

In addition, events and fests should be organized through which the students can refresh themselves from the monotonousness of studies and can develop their leadership skills and communication skills as well. Thus a management college should consider all the above points in addition to their own efforts to provide best service to the students.

Top 20 Best Mechanical Engineering Colleges in India in 2018

Mechanical Engineering deals with the moving parts i.e. the parts which convey a sense of motion. Mechanical Engineering consists of Analysis, Design, Manufacturing, Control, Operations, Testing and Maintenance of Mechanical Systems i.e. any system that consists of moving parts. Mechanical Systems can increase in size and complexity from a Precision Gear and FM Radio Transmitter to a Car Engine and a Nuclear Power Plant.

After completing graduation with Mechanical Engineering, an Engineer will have a pretty knowledge of nearly each and every branch of Engineering like Computer Applications, Electricity, Structure, Mathematics, etc. along with the knowledge of their own branch like Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, Assembling, etc. Also, Mechanical Engineers can get a job nearly everywhere an engineer is needed. That is why, Mechanical Engineering branch is said to be “An Evergreen Branch” of engineering. And because of that, most of students after completing 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects and willing to take admission in engineering give first priority to Mechanical Engineering branch and try to take admission in this branch only. As a result, seats in this branch fill out very soon in first few rounds of counseling.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES A STUDENT MUST DEVELOP TO BE A MECHANICAL ENGINEER

To be a Mechanical Engineer a student should have proper knowledge of Physics and should have an ability to think creatively. A mechanical engineer should be passionate towards his/her work.

After completing 12th, a student has an ample time of about 3-5 months, depending upon the time taken by Universities to start the Course, to prepare themselves with the brief knowledge in Mechanical Engineering. In that free time, a student can do following things to develop foundation for Mechanical Engineering –

  • Learn some skills related to your field like Bicycle Repair, Welding, Drilling, Carpentry, Robotics, etc.
  • Learn to operate different tools like Vernier Scale, Screw Gauge, Hammer, Saw, Welding tools, etc.
  • Try to disassemble an old and damaged bicycle or you can even start with an old mobile charger or even a switch board and observe what components it has. Try to understand how it would have been working and then again assemble it. See if it is working properly again. If not, find what has gone wrong.
  • Join some courses related to your field like AutoCAD and CAD.

JOB PROSPECTS AND CAREER AFTER MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

After completing bachelor’s course or graduation with mechanical engineering, an engineer can continue their career and jobs in public as well as private sector with any of the fields of Mechanical engineering like,

  • Production Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Thermal Engineering
  • Automobile Engineering
  • Fluid Mechanics Engineering

To do research and innovations in this field and to get more knowledge of a particular aspect of Mechanical Engineering, a student can do Post Graduation (M.E. or M.Tech) or Specialization in any one of the above mentioned fields by qualifying GATE.

As Mechanical Engineering is very broad, other than the above mentioned branches, there are much more branches to do specialization in this field.

SCOPE OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FOR GIRLS

In addition, a mechanical engineer should have a good physical strength to carry out workshop tasks assigned during the college sessions. Since a lot of physical strength is required for mechanical engineering, a lot of arguments arise regarding girls should do Mechanical Engineering or not. Many people say that “Girls lack of Physical Strength and hence, should not opt for Mechanical Engineering”. Because of that very few girls opt for Mechanical Engineering.

How can people judge girls by saying that they don’t have physical strength in the era when girls are winning gold medals in Gymnastics and Wrestling? Many girls develop their physical strength by Gymnastics, Proper Diet and Weight Exercises. Hence, one should not underestimate the strength of a girl and should encourage girls to do Mechanical Engineering.

Best & Top Most Engineering Colleges in India

In today’s world of technologies and inventions, everyone wants to learn and be in touch with new technologies, methodologies and processes. To get in-depth knowledge of new technologies and methodologies, whether in the field of computer science or mechanical or in electrical/electronics, students have to opt for engineering. To be an engineer, students have to take admission in engineering colleges and devote 4 years studying and completing their assignments and projects. What if a student’s dream engineering college is not as per his/her expectations? What if a student doesn’t possess desired skills or qualities to be an engineer? Definitely his/her life would be in vain.

Today, through this article, we would discuss the answers about how to select the best engineering colleges in India, what criteria should a student consider while getting admissions in an engineering colleges, what skills and qualities should a student bear to become an engineer, etc. So before getting admission in an engineering college, just go through this article.

  • Be a Team Player: A good engineering student should understand that they have to be a part of a large team working together to make a successful project, so he/she must work well as the part of a team.
  • Should have Excellent Communication Skills: Since an engineer has to deal with the non-technical clients, he/she should have excellent communication skills to translate complex technical linguistics into simple English so that the clients can understand their projects and the work which is being carried out.
  • Rely on Ethics: A good engineering student should always rely on ethics and should not use his/her knowledge and technology for the deterioration of the society.
  • Willingness to Learn: Since new technologies arrive every now and then, a good engineering student should have a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies and should stay up-to-date with the newly arriving technologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Many times, an engineer has to take the lead of the project and has to complete the project under his leadership. So for that, an engineering student must possess good leadership skills and must nurture it during the college days.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTING BEST ENGINEERING COLLEGE

A student must consider following criteria for selecting a best engineering college. First he/she should make a comparative analytical report of the various Indian engineering colleges by visiting their websites and gets information regarding the following points:

  • Recognition by UGC: Firstly, while selecting an appropriate college, a student must check whether the university is recognized by UGC or not. Usually universities mentioned under private, deemed, state and central categories are all affiliated by UGC.
  • Campus: The campus of the academy is the house where an undergraduate spends most of the time. The surroundings and environment furthermore affects a portion in nurturing the dreams of a student. So, the campus of the academy should be filled with positivity. Posters and flex displaying inspiring quotes can be issue at adequate places of the campus which inspires a first-year undergraduate and feed a student with new desire to urge towards their goal. It is necessary because it takes roughly 4-6 years for a learner to become an engineer. At times a student may get de-motivated by some failures. In such times, these quotes play a major role.
  • Infrastructure: Classrooms should be properly ventilated. Workshops and computer labs should be well equipped which provides an appropriate learning environment for the students.
  • Practical approach: As engineering is all about methodologies and process, an engineering college should provide appropriate practical knowledge to demonstrate the theoretical concepts
  • Up-to-date syllabus: Since new technologies and methodologies are discovered every now and then, engineering colleges should periodically update the syllabus of the engineering students so that they can get the up-to-date knowledge regarding their streams. Students should be cheered to do research and innovations in their field and subjects especially around their specialization course. In that manner students can earn better knowledge of their subjects.
  • Faculties and Professors of the college: Faculties and professors of the academy also play a major role in shaping the life of a student. Hence the faculties and professors of the academy should be highly efficient and experienced. They should have a valuable experience in teaching field and practical work as well.
  • Placements and internships: As told already practical development is more important than hypothetical concepts, significant internships should be provided to the students so that they can earn the proper employment experience for their future. Proper placements to the students should be provided which is the ultimate feast for the eye of individually every engineering student.
  • Mess and Hostels: Although Mess and Hostels are not a major making up one’s mind factor for the selection of a academy but as a learner has to devote 4-6 years with a academy, he/she should concern that also. As sound mind rests in sound body, the quality of cuisine provided in the college mess should be up to the mark (it is significant if the learner is residing in the college hostel away from his home) and the rooms of the hostel should furthermore be well maintained and furnished. The hostel should have a calm and pleasant environment which encourages a student to perform well in their academics.

In addition, events and fests should be organized through which the students can refresh themselves from the monotonousness of studies and can discover their hidden talents. Thus an engineering college should consider all the above points in addition to their own efforts to provide best service to the students. After all engineering colleges are the ladder to someone’s dreams.
